Letter: City of Oak Park Receives Childhood Obesity Prevention and Environmental Health and Sustainability Award
The Illinois Beverage Association (IBA) congratulates the City of Oak Park for being the first-place recipient of the Childhood Obesity Prevention and Environmental Health and Sustainability Awards in the “Small City” category and receiving a grant to support their Cross Community Climate Collaborative (C4) initiative from The U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) and the American Beverage Foundation for a Healthy America (ABFHA).
Oak Park and C4 will receive a $125,000 grant to continue their work on climate action. C4 is a partnership between 15 communities and several local nonprofits that have committed to work together to address the climate crisis and achieve equity and sustainability outcomes.
IBA is proud of the work our communities continue to do to promote health, wellness and environmental quality for Illinois residents. We are also thankful to USCM and ABFHA for supporting Oak Park and their C4 initiative and encouraging community members to engage in healthier behaviors.
