The Illinois Beverage Association Celebrates Black History Month

(ILLINOIS) – February marks Black History Month, also known as National African American History Month. Formally beginning in 1976, the month is celebrated every February to note the achievements by black Americans and recognize the central role of African Americans throughout the history of the United States. President Gerald R. Ford was the first to officially recognize this celebration as part of the 1976 U.S. Bicentennial, and every U.S. president following has done the same.

“The Illinois Beverage Association and its member companies are proud to celebrate the achievements of African Americans to our nation, our state and our industry,” said Rob Nash, Executive Director of IBA. “Our members remain committed to remaining leaders in equity, diversity and inclusion.”
