Illinois Beverage Association Celebrates “National Recycling Day” By Discussing Their Efforts To Get Every Bottle Back

The Beverage Industry’s Carefully Designed Plastic Bottles Are Made To Be Remade

ILLINOIS – The Illinois Beverage Association (IBA) is celebrating National Recycling Day by touting the importance of industry-wide efforts to recycle. To ensure Illinois’ environment and natural resources, such as the Illinois River are preserved, IBA has teamed up with America’s leading beverage companies and environmental and sustainability partners to bring Every Bottle Back. Through this program, they are committed to making 100% recyclable plastic bottles, including the cap, as well as additional initiatives to support their efforts.

“100% recyclable bottles are just a critical first step” said IBA Executive Director Rob Nash. “There are additional components of the Every Bottle Back program that allow for recycling improvements. We are also committed to improving community recycling infrastructure and access, measuring and tracking our progress in using less plastic, and increasing consumer awareness surrounding our recyclable plastic bottles.”

Along with their own efforts, the Illinois Beverage Association supports policymakers, NGOs, industry partners and consumers and communities across the state in their efforts to improve recycling through proactive policy solutions, investments in recycling infrastructure and education.
